Tuesday, January 8, 2008, 8:45am. LH, Fisher Meadows, Avon
Meet @ Unionville's Stop&Shop (westernmost lot) or at the Park itself in Avon @ 9:15am. Depending on the surface of the ground, we'll snowshoe or walk...or not (if it's too icy)! Come prepared for a short-ish first-of-the-year "event." Expect to be back to cars by 11:30 or so. Do bring water! L: Diana Meyer
Thursday, January 10, 2008, 11:45am. LH, McLean Eddy Loop, W Simsbury
Meet at the shopping center where
Mario's Ristorante is located (244 Farms Village Road, West Simsbury). Parking
at trail head is limited, so we will car pool approx 4 miles to start. We are
hiking/snowshoeing the Eddy Loop in McLean Game Preserve. This is a great
trail, very quiet and scenic. The hike is about 3.2 miles -- estimated 2 hours.
Either have lunch before or bring snack/sandwich etc.
