Meet at the bulletin board at the park entrance. The Sleeping Giant Park is on Mt. Carmel Avenue in northern Hamden, on the left-hand side, about 0.5 mile in from Whitney Avenue (Rt. 10). Hikers should wear comfortable, supportive shoes and bring snacks and water

Visit original study area and new sites in this post Revolutionary War community. Learn of some new discoveries about the people who lived here and history of Peoples State Forest. About 2 miles and some off trail walking. Meet at the entrance to the Matthies Grove Picnic Area, Peoples State Forest on East River Rd., Barkhamsted. Bring water, insect spray. Allow about 2 hrs.
