Tuesday, January 1, 1:30 p.m. Sleeping Giant Hike, Hamden

New Year's Day Hike -- Meet at bulletin board at park entrance.

Tuesday, Jan. 8th, 9 AM Sessions Woods
Meet on Rt. 69 in Burlington ready to snowshoe. We should be back to the cars by 11 AM. Remember, you do not need snowshoes to join us, and I have a few extra pairs that I can let people borrow.

Friday, January 11, 8:30 a.m.  Windsor Locks Canal [Postponed till next Friday due to freezing rain.]

North to south, Suffield to center of Windsor Locks. This is a level bike path of 5 miles; not sure whether surface is paved or dirt. We'll need to spot cars. Bring lunch/snack and water. Meeting place: Commuter parking lot in Farmington, corner of Rt. 4 and Town Farm Rd.

Tues. Jan. 15, 8:45 a.m.  McLean Game Refuge 

Meet in the parking lot on the side of Borders at Simsbury Commons. We will car pool to explore some part of this wonderful area. We should be back to the cars by 11:30 AM.  Leader: Marie Coons

Friday, January 18, 8:30 a.m.  Windsor Locks Canal

Tues., Jan. 22,  8:45 a.m.  Enders State Forest 

Meet at Borders in Simsbury Commons and we will car pool to this adventure.  I have never been in this area, so I will make sure to have my GPS with fresh batteries.  Plan on a window of between 11 AM and Noon for a return to the cars.  Leader: Marie Coons

Friday, Jan. 25, 9 a.m.  Tunxis Black-dot Trail, Burlington

Meet at Sessions Woods on Rt. 69 in Burlington between Rt. 4 and the Bristol line.  We will carpool down to the Barnes Nature Center on Shrub Road in Bristol, and hike north from there on the black-dot through some beautiful terrain.  We should finish back at Sessions Woods around 1 pm.  Bring water and snacks.  Snowshoes optional depending on conditions.    Leader: Diana Meyer

Tues., Jan. 29, 9 a.m.  Roaring Brook Nature Center, Canton 

Meet in the parking lot at Roaring Brook Nature Center in Canton. We will explore this area and should be back to the cars by 11 AM  Leader: Marie Coons
