Wednesday, July 2, 8:30 a.m., Enders State Forest  [Note earlier start time]

Beautiful waterfalls along cool stream.  Perfect for a hot summer's day.  Bring snacks and water.  Meet at Borders in Simsbury Commons just N of Rt. 44/167 junction.  L: Diana Meyer

Friday, July 11, 8:30 a.m., Green/Blue/Orange Tunxis Lollipop  Cancelled due to rain and threat of thunderstorms

Relaxed 4.4 miles, suitable for warmer weather.  However, there is one steeper section called "Devil's Kitchen."  Meet at Burlington Commons, junction Rts. 4 & 69.  Bring snacks and water.  Back around noon. L: Len Berton 

Saturday, July 12, 10:30 a.m.,  AMC Hike, Ward Pound Ridge Reservation (C3D)

4-5 mi. loop hike. Meet CPL High Ridge Rd, Exit 35 Merritt Pkwy. Rain cancels; if doubt, call by 9 AM Leader: Rob Munro (203-406-9582).

Sunday, July 13, 2003,  9:00 a.m.,  SG Hike, A Midsummer Day's Hike

Hike will leave from the bulletin board at the park entrance.  The Sleeping Giant Park is on Mt. Carmel Avenue in northern Hamden, about 0.5 mile in from Whitney Avenue, on the left-hand side of the street.  Hikers should wear comfortable, supportive shoes and bring snacks and water, as desired.  Please do not bring pets.  The hike is open to the public, and there is no fee.

Sunday, July 13, 2003,  9:00 a.m.,  PSF Hike, Forest Landscape 

Walk Agnes Bowen and Charles Pack Trails in Peoples State Forest. Getting the forest to tell its history, we will be learning to read the forest landscape. About 2 miles of easy walking. Estimated time about 2 ½ hours. Meet at the entrance to the PSF Matthies Grove Picnic Area on East River Rd. Bring water and insect spray. Heavy rain cancels. L: Walt Landgraf

Friday, July 18, 8:30 a.m., Blue/Orange Tunxis Lollipop #2

4.7 mostly easy miles.  If trails are dry, will include Heminway Lookout -- some steep sections.  Meet at Burlington Commons, junction Rts. 4 & 69.  Bring snacks/lunch and water.  Back around 1 p.m.. L: Len Berton

Wednesday, July 23, 8:30 a.m., Great Pond - Simsbury  Holcomb Farm Trails, Granby  Cancelled due to thunderstorms

Unfortunately, the blooms have already come & gone.  New destination.  Meeting time/place unchanged.

Wednesday July 23, AMC Hike, "Scrambling" Giant Double Header (C3C/D)

"Towering" Giant (780 ft) (#1) &/or Right Leg of Giant (C3C, 675 ft) (#2). Sleeping Giant SP, Hamden; take hike #1 or #2, or both. Lunch between. 
#1: Gravel road to Tower and very wide view to LI, AM. 
#2: Easy foot-trails near "Right Leg" of the Giant with varied scenery, midday.
