Meet in the commuter parking lot on the corner of Town Farm Rd. and Rt. 4 in Farmington. We will carpool to Newtown, CT from there to hike a loop on the Zoar Trail. The hike will be almost 5.5 miles with a couple of views. Anticipate a 2:30 pm return time, so pack lunch, plenty of water, etc. L: Marie Coons

Meet at the Jessie Gerard Trailhead parking area on East River Rd about 2.6 miles north of the Rt 181 bridge and about 1.5 miles north of the Matthies Grove picnic area. We will carpool to the Matthies Grove picnic area parking lot. We will hike the Agnes Bowen Trail to the Charles Pack trail, connecting to the Jessie Gerard Trial and the beautiful Grand Vista and Chaugham overlooks. For more information, check CWB pgs 5, 8-11, 13. Note: this hike is over 5 miles long and requires everyone to arrive on time. Also the parking is limited so please carpool if possible. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 8:45 am, FCE-U, Macedonia Brook State Park, Kent , CT
Meet in the parking lot of Ocean State Job Lots, Canton, to hike about 5 miles in the eastern part of this park. Anticipate a 3:30 pm return time, so pack lunch, plenty of water, etc. L: Marie Coons View Scoville Rd. in a larger map Meet at the parking area at Scovill Road and Route 69 in Burlington, which is 1.3 miles north of Sessions Woods. We will hike two loops of the Blue and Orange Dot trails, past an early 1900's rusted car body, through a small section of Sessions Woods, on a portion of the Tunxis Mainline Trail, past Clarks Corners and see the very pretty formations in the Devil's Kitchen and a portion of the Nassahegan State Forest. Most of the hike is through heavily forested areas, on meandering trails through moderately rolling hills. However, approximately 1/4 of the hike, through the Devil's Kitchen gorge area, is more challenging. We will have our season ending luncheon at Georges in Unionville following the hike. Thursday, November 18, 8:45 am, FCE - Metacomet Trail View W. Hartford Reservoir in a larger map From Rt. 44, West Hartford to Rt. 4, West Hartford. Park at the Rt. From Rt. 44, West Hartford to Rt. 4, West Hartford. Park at the Rt. 4/Farmington Avenue, West Hartford reservoir at 1420 Farmington Avenue, using the new parking lot on the left just inside the gate. We will carpool to Rt. 44, parking on the south side to avoid having to walk across Rt. 44. This approximately 5- mile hike includes a couple of heart pounding hills but is generally average and includes Kilkenny Rock.
