Thursday, June 2, 8:45 am, FCE - Onion Mountain, W Simsbury

Meet at the entrance to Stop & Shop, 530 Bushy Hill Rd (Rt. 167), Simsbury. We will carpool to Onion Mountain, 3 miles north on W Mountain Rd. to hike about 4 miles on the yellow, red and orange trails; then will carpool back for our season-ending luncheon. Saturday, June 4, 10:00 am, BLT - Connecticut Trails Day. Sessions Woods, Burlington

Nature walk (suitable for families).  Lecture in Sessions Woods Education Center, with hike to follow at about 11. "Wildman" Steve Brill will give a 45 minute presentation on foraging for edibles and medicinal plants in the woods and then lead a two hour hike to search for them. Bring plastic bags for vegetables and herbs, paper bags for mushrooms, and drinking water. Lunch, knife, digger, work gloves, note pad, whistle (so you won't get lost), insect repellent, sun hat, rain gear or boots - as necessary. Tuesday June 7, 8:45 am, FCE-U Natchaug Trail, Eastford, CT

Meet at the commuter parking lot on the corner of Route 4 and Town Farm Rd. to carpool to this hike in the eastern part of our state. We will hike about 6 miles. Anticipate returning by mid-afternoon.  L: Marie Coons marie@cthikes.com
