HOME | APRIL 2012 SCHEDULE Thursday, April 12, 8:45am, FCE Hikes Begin Please call FCE at 860-404-0290 and register for Course 12SNAT1 "Hikes", or click here to enroll on-line. Distances will be about 4 - 6 miles, with back-to-cars goal before 12:30pm. Also see Hiking Notes. Tulmeadow Farms, Simsbury New trail (connecting with Ethel Walker Trails) just opened by Simsbury Land Trust. Moderate terrain for our first FCE hike. Meet 8:45 for 9AM start- 244 Farms Village Road, Village Plaza, across the street from West Simsbury Post Office. L: Jerry Marcum 860 810 0087. Thursday, April 19, 8:45am, FCE, Tunxis Trail, Burlington We'll do the Yellow Dot Trail to White Dot Trail to Tunxis Mainline Trail to Mt Spring Rd at Rt 4. Travel W on Rt 4, after the junction of Rt 179 and Rt 4. Turn L and park on Mt Spring Rd, approx 100 yards down the road. We will then carpool to Old Field Rd to start the hike. Hike is approx 4 miles. L: Tom Iezzi Thursday, April 26, 8:45am, Camp Jewell, Colebrook Camp Jewell is a Y family facility open year round with many hiking trails. Meet at the Camp Jewel Dining Hall. We will hike the Red, Yellow, Orange, Blue, and Green trails as well as the Poet Tree and Z trails. The hike is approx 4 miles. The Y facility will be available for Lunch. Please advise me ahead of time if you will stay after the hike to enjoy a Camp style lunch. Take Rt 44 through Winsted and turn R on Rt 183 into Colebrook. Go R at the Camp Jewell sign.
